Senior Accounting ManagerWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead the financial operations of our growing property management portfolio. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep expertise in property accounting, strong operational oversight, and a commitment to accuracy in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in cash basis accounting and experience managing financials across multiple properties and clients.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all accounting functions related to property management, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and owner distributionsManage and mentor the accounting team -both onsite and virtual-, ensuring high performance, accountability and professional developmentEnsure accurate and timely financial reporting for property owners using cash basis accountingLead month-end and year-end close processes across multiple properties and entitiesMaintain and enforce internal controls, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policiesPrepare and review owner statements, financial packages, and performance reportsManage multiple priorities and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery financial reporting and operational supportIdentify and implement process improvements, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Oversee trust accounts and ensure proper handling of client fundsUtilize AppFolio software to manage accounting workflows, reporting, and data integrityDevelop, train and educate accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to support scalable growth.Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and stakeholders as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting5+ years of accounting experience within property management or real estateProven leadership and team management experience, overseeing teams of 8-12 employees.Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines within a fast-paced environmentCollaborative mindset with experience working across departments and remote teamsExperience with client accounting and property financialsProficiency in AppFolio or similar property management platforms (e.g., Yardi, Buildium, RealPage, Entrata)Strong understanding of trust accounting and owner reportingExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting issues clearly and concisely to non-accountantsExperience managing accounting for multi-entity or multi-property portfolios preferredFamiliarity with property management compliance and regulatory requirements preferredWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation and benefits packageLeadership role with high visibility and impactCollaborative, growth-oriented environment within a dynamic property management company
