Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled Travel RN to join a high-acuity cardiac stepdown unit. The role involves providing advanced bedside care in a fast-paced environment focused on patient recovery and stabilization.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac and medical-surgical patients in the PCU.
  
  
• 
  Perform procedures such as chest tube management, pacemaker wire removal, and 12-lead EKGs.
  
  
• 
  Administer and monitor IV drips including heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and Lasix.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  
  
• 
  Utilize advanced equipment including telemetry systems, ventilators, and infusion pumps.
  
  
• 
  Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records (Meditech) and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid RN license with a minimum of 1-year current PCU experience.
  
  
• 
  Possess BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications; additional neuro and cardiac experience preferred.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in cardiac monitoring and medication management.
  
  
• 
  Show ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, high-pressure setting.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit excellent communication skills and high-energy level.
