Job Description and Duties

This position requires leadership and expertise in the Software Engineering and Systems Engineering domains. This position plays a major role in advising management and formulating information technology strategy and policy within the CHP. The Information Technology Specialist II will perform a wide variety of software development tasks requiring innovative problem-solving and a high level of technical expertise in software development principles and methodologies.

This is a full stack developer position responsible for writing code, performing software deployments, and conducting release management activities for the CalCrash project. The Information Technology Specialist II will define and design software solutions; create and lead the design of new system architecture; troubleshoot, track, and conduct root cause analysis of software, database, and operational issues; and serve as a mentor, code reviewer, and lead technical architect.

This limited-term position may be extended up to a maximum of 24 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing business requirements, writing unit tests, and coding features tailored for an optimal user experience. Full stack technical skills with ASP.NET, C#, SQL, and Visual Studio expertise is preferred, but syntax can be learned. Computer Science or similar degree is highly desired.
