This well-established medical center is a 25-bed community hospital providing comprehensive surgical and emergency care services to the western North Dakota region. The facility offers strong support infrastructure including CRNA-provided anesthesia coverage, scheduled and emergent surgical capabilities seven days a week, and a collaborative care environment with a focus on general surgery excellence.

Job Details:

• Locum Tenens General Surgery coverage with ongoing availability across multiple date ranges beginning July 2025
• Must be available to cover urgent July dates - this is a critical requirement
• Coverage includes 24/7/365 call with a 20-minute call response time requirement
• Average daily census of 15 patients with 0-5 General Surgery patients per 24 hours of call
• Clinic schedule: Monday, Wednesday 8AM-5PM; Friday 8AM-2PM
• Surgery days: Tuesday and Thursday, with clinic hours following surgery depending on schedule
• Emergent surgical coverage required 7 days per week, 24 hours per day
• Responsible for phone consults, admissions, and rounding on General Surgery patients only
• Agency physician will not be required to supervise any Advanced Practice Providers
• Anesthesia coverage is provided by an on-site CRNA group
• Required procedures include: Abdominal, Endoscopy, Liver, Stomach, Gallbladder, Appendix, Colon, Laparoscopy, and Spleen
• Preferred procedures include: Pediatrics, Thyroid, Pulmonary, and Vascular
• Procedures not required: Amputations, C-Sections, Hysterectomies, and Respiratory Care
• Facility is a Level IV Trauma Center
• Board Certification highly preferred; Board Eligible within 3 years of US residency training required
• Required certifications: ATLS, PALS, DEA
• North Dakota license highly preferred; IMLC candidates will also be considered
• Temporary privileges are available for credentialing
• Clean licensure history required; candidates actively on monitoring agreements or with revoked licenses or privileges will not be accepted
• A Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation date is required at time of submission
• Candidates must complete payor enrollment upon acceptance

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
