The Director, Compensation, Benefits & HRIS is responsible for providing leadership in the implementation, ongoing maintenance and improvement, and the regulatory compliance of total rewards programs and HR systems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Duties)

• Oversee and analyze and maintain compensation programs, including but not limited to the evaluation of job families, pay grades and salary data. In coordination with HR Leadership Team, administer performance review and merit increase process. Oversee participation in salary surveys and market competitiveness reviews. Ensure internal equity between positions. Oversee Special Pays and Currency Equalization programs.*
• Lead and contribute to the development of competitive and cost-effective benefits strategies including the analysis, implementation and ongoing maintenance of health, welfare and retirement programs. Coordinate data collection, analysis, preparation and distribution of applicable regulatory filing/posting requirements.*
• Collaborate and lead coordinated identification and analysis of process, system and technology needs related to human capital best practices and data/records management.*
• Lead design and delivery of communication strategies for compensation, benefits and HR systems programs plans and policies.*
• Manage relationships with external providers, including brokers, recordkeepers, consultants and service providers.*
• Improve the effectiveness, efficiency, value and utility of Total Rewards and HRIS across the organization.
• Provide consulting services to USO colleagues – both within Human Resources and in other functions or regions.
• Lead, manage and mentor HRIS Manager and HR Specialist, Compensation & Benefits staff. Perform assigned duties in the absence of Vice President, Human Resources.*

Job Specifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
• 10+ years progressively responsible work experience administering Compensation, Benefits and HR systems, including 5+ years in a supervisory capacity. Relevant experience in a non-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.
• In-depth understanding of the Human Resources functional processes, compliance requirements and business needs of a mid-sized globally dispersed organization. Familiarity with global pay and benefits practices and HR system requirements for Italy, Korea, Japan, and/or UAE (Dubai & Abu Dhabi) preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams. Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with USO Leadership, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial and/or culturally sensitive subjects. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise.
• Working knowledge of basic business and accounting functions including project management and budgeting.
• Demonstrated initiative/self-motivation, with the ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs.
• Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment. Working knowledge of various software, applications, and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, human resource and learning management systems. Familiarity with UltiPro, ClearCompany and/or SkilSoft preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA status, valid driver’s license.
• Must be a strong advocate of the USO’s mission.

• The salary range for this position is $144,000-$180,000.
• To support pay transparency, this posting includes the anticipated base salary range for this role. Compensation is determined based on several factors including geographic location, relevant experience, specialized skills, certifications, and overall alignment with the position requirements. Our compensation practices are designed to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity across roles and levels.
