No matter where your talents lie, join us and discover how we can advance health together.Duke Health Integrated Practice comprises more than 110 primary and specialty outpatient clinics, extending the reach of the Duke Health mission across the state of North Carolina.$7,500 Commitment Bonus & Relocation program for qualifying candidates!JOB LOCATION:Medicine Specialties of South Durham - 234 Crooked Creek PkwyJOB SUMMARY:We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant in our Medicine Specialties of South Durham – Rheumatology located in Durham, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team to provide direct and indirect care to patients.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist Medical and Nursing Staff in a variety of tasks including: Taking medical histories and recording vital signs,Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physicianAuthorize drug refills as directedTelephone prescriptions to a pharmacyPerform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physicianCollect and prepare laboratory specimensExplaining treatment procedures to patientsPreparing patients for examinations and proceduresJOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.High school or GED graduation required.
