Custodian - Evening Shift

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Custodian for the evening shift at Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation. This full-time position is crucial in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our facilities. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste materials. Maintain and restock cleaning supplies and equipment as needed. Assist in setting up and taking down furniture for events and activities. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and report issues to the appropriate personnel. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment. Respond to emergency cleaning requests as necessary. Collaborate with staff to support special projects and initiatives related to facility maintenance. Follow established procedures for cleaning and sanitizing to ensure the health and safety of students and staff. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus, but not required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work. Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, and safety procedures related to their use. Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Must be able to pass a background check and comply with school corporation policies.
