Center Director – Early Childhood Education

Location: The Learning Experience – Canton, MI
Salary: $65,000–$70,000 per year
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

The Learning Experience – Canton is seeking an experienced and passionate Center Director to lead our preschool and childcare center. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven leader who is committed to building exceptional teams, supporting families, and creating an environment where children thrive through joyful learning experiences.

As Center Director, you'll oversee all aspects of the school's operations while coaching educators, maintaining licensing excellence, driving enrollment growth, and ensuring every family receives an outstanding experience.

What You'll Do

Leadership & Team Development

• Recruit, hire, onboard, and mentor a high-performing team of early childhood educators

• Conduct classroom observations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development

• Foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture built on accountability, teamwork, and excellence

• Support teacher retention through recognition, engagement, and continuous development

Center Operations

• Oversee the daily operations of the center, ensuring a safe, organized, and welcoming environment

• Maintain full compliance with Michigan childcare licensing regulations and company standards

• Manage staffing, scheduling, payroll support, and operational procedures

• Monitor classroom quality and ensure consistent implementation of The Learning Experience's proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum

Family & Business Growth

• Build strong relationships with current and prospective families through exceptional customer service

• Conduct center tours and support enrollment growth and family retention

• Partner with local businesses and community organizations to increase awareness and enrollment

• Collaborate with ownership to achieve operational and financial goals

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or early childhood education setting preferred

• Previous Center Director, Assistant Director, or School Director experience strongly preferred

• Strong knowledge of Michigan childcare licensing regulations
  
  
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Business, or a related field preferred

• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
