Systems Administrator, Genetics Lab

Salary: $102,000 - 142,000 per year Requirements:

• We require at least three years of experience in application support.
• We require at least one year of experience in an informal leadership capacity working with IT or operational teams.
• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Social Science, Education, Business, Health Care, or a related discipline, plus a minimum of six years working in IT or operations. Equivalent work experience may be considered in place of the degree.

• We lead incident and problem management by resolving complex issues, performing root cause analysis, coordinating prevention plan execution, and handling escalations when needed.
• We complete assignments and contribute to business-focused projects by applying subject matter expertise, helping build work plans, meeting priorities and deadlines, and coordinating resources.
• We follow all procedures and policies, collaborate across functions, solve complex problems, and escalate high-priority issues or risks appropriately.
• We support learning and development by sharing information, resources, advice, and technical expertise with coworkers and customers.
• We build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, influence others through technical explanations and examples, and adapt to changing demands and responsibilities.
• We receive, provide, and act on feedback to strengthen performance, support collaboration, and continuously improve.
• We deliver timely, sustainable solutions and help technical and project teams resolve system and application issues.
• We support the stability, availability, and performance of enterprise systems by conducting complex systems analysis to identify issues, patterns, and improvement opportunities.
• We provide first- and second-level support across enterprise systems and additional IT domains by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex incidents.
• We escalate unresolved or critical issues, risks, and problems to system engineers.
• We communicate with product users and suppliers to share information, address issues, prioritize requirements, and drive continuous improvement through customer feedback.
• We plan and perform complex system configurations and participate in installations, upgrades, and decommissions of systems, products, and infrastructure.
• We create and maintain accurate documentation for system configurations and procedures.
• We plan hardware and software changes by assessing impact across production and related environments.
• We support vendor activities, contribute to change management, define maintenance and documentation for advanced applications, and help develop guidance to prevent recurring issues.
