Fall Internship - All Departments
Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale
Calvary Internships are designed to develop future leaders both in and out of the church. As an intern, you’ll serve on a specific ministry team during the week and join a weekly intern cohort focused on leadership, discipleship, doctrine, and spiritual formation. You'll be trusted, trained, discipled, and cared for. Why Calvary Internships? Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale has a long history of raising up leaders. Many of our current pastors, staff, and key volunteers started here as young men and women who were willing to be discipled and to serve. Our internship program is one of the primary ways we invest in emerging leaders and identify future staff and ministry leaders both at Calvary and beyond. If you sense a call to ministry, want to explore serving in the local church, or simply want to grow as a follower of Jesus and a leader, this program is built for you! Who Should Apply? Calvary Internships are for followers of Jesus who want to grow in character, competency, and calling. We’re looking for people who are: Typically ages 16–25 (no hard age limit) Hungry to grow spiritually and willing to be discipled Ready to serve, learn, and be part of a team Serious about developing as a Christ-centered leader, whether in the church, marketplace, or wherever God leads Interns serve in an unpaid role, however, limited housing is available and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The internship follows a semester rhythm (Fall, Spring, and Summer) and requires at least a one-semester commitment, with the option to extend up to three semesters. A typical week is 20–25 hours, allowing flexibility for school or work. Below are the dates for the upcoming semesters: Spring 2026: January 19 – May 3 Summer 2026: June 2 – August 2 Fall 2026: August 25 – December 13 How the Internship Works Our internship program blends department-based ministry experience with a weekly leadership cohort so you get the best of both worlds. 1. Serve on a Ministry Team (2–3 days per week) You’ll be placed in a specific ministry area based on your gifts, interests, and the needs of the church. This could be Worship, Creative, NextGen, Discipleship, Outreach, or Operations. On your ministry team, you will: Serve regularly in real ministry settings Take on meaningful tasks and responsibilities Be supervised and mentored by a staff member or leader Learn the skills and “craft” of that area of ministry 2. Intern Cohort (1 day per week) One day each week, all interns step away from their departments and come together as a cohort. In the cohort, you will: Learn about biblical leadership Study core doctrines of the Christian faith Process what you’re seeing and learning in ministry Build community with other interns 3. Be Developed as a Future Leader The goal isn’t just to add an internship to your resume but to develop you as a leader and a Christ-follower. You’ll receive feedback, encouragement, and opportunities to step up You’ll be known by who God created you to be, not just by what you can do For some, this will open doors to future roles on staff or deeper involvement in ministry Whether you end up at Calvary, another church, or in the marketplace, we want you to leave closer to Jesus, clearer on your calling, and stronger as a leader. Ministry Tracks When you apply, you’ll tell us which ministry tracks you’re most interested in. You’ll serve primarily in one area, but every intern will participate in the same weekly cohort. Worship & Production Use your musical and technical gifts to help lead people in worship and create excellent, distraction-free services. Worship (must be able to lead and accompany yourself) AVL (audio, lighting, cameras, ProPresenter, or broadcast) Music Production (recording, editing, live/recorded projects) Creative & Communications Help tell the story of what God is doing at Calvary through visuals, words, and media. Film & Media (storyboarding, shooting, and editing video) Graphic Design (series artwork, print, and digital assets) Social Media (content creation, strategy, and engagement) Events Creative (creative concepts, visuals, and theming) NextGen Invest in the next generation of kids, students, or young adults by helping to create fun, safe, and Christ-centered environments for them to grow closer to Jesus. Calvary Kids (birth–5th grade) CYA – Calvary Young Adults (18–30) Discipleship & Pastoral Care Walk with adults as they grow in Christ and navigate real-life joys and struggles. If you’re drawn to teaching, shepherding, or coming alongside people in need, this track will stretch your heart and your leadership. Groups (supporting community groups/small groups) Calvary Women Calvary Men Pastoral Care (memorials, hospital visits, and biblical counseling support) Outreach, Missions & Recovery Be part of what God is doing locally and/or globally. You’ll see how the gospel moves into neighborhoods, nations, and lives in need of hope and restoration. Outreach (local outreach to our community and county) Missions (supporting global missions, trips, and missionaries) Calvary House (our residential rehabilitation and recovery ministry) Hospitality & Volunteers Help people feel welcomed, seen, and connected as they find their place in the life of the church. If you enjoy people, details, and creating environments where others can encounter Jesus, this track gives you plenty of both. Hospitality (first impressions, greeting, and guest experience) Volunteers (helping recruit, onboard, and care for volunteers) Operations Support the behind-the-scenes systems that keep our church and ministries running smoothly. Facilities (campus upkeep, room setups, and practical support for events and ministries, building projects) HR (supporting onboarding processes, team care, and people-related administration) Accounting (assisting with financial processes, reporting, and stewardship support) IT (helping with technical support, systems, and digital infrastructure) Travel (helping plan and coordinate travel for mission trips and ministry teams) Campuses & Church Planting Help support our multi-campus ministry and church planting efforts as we reach new communities with the gospel. Campuses (supporting campus pastors, services, and local initiatives) Campus Operations (service logistics, volunteer coordination, and campus communication) Church Planting (research, logistics, and support for current and future church plants) Schedule: Follows Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters Time Commitment: 3–4 days per week (20–25 hours total) 2–3 days on your ministry team 1 day in the intern cohort Compensation: Unpaid Housing: Limited housing is available and offered on a first-come, first-served basis Location: Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale (Fort Lauderdale, FL) Eligibility: Followers of Jesus, typically ages 16–25, who are willing to be discipled and to serve #J-18808-Ljbffr
