Senior Accountant

The right candidate will join a team with significant early- and late-stage development experience, with the goal of quickly moving through dose escalation/expansion into pivotal trials. The Role The Senior Accountant will play a hands-on role in supporting the company's day-to-day accounting operations, with a focus on general ledger accuracy, close activities, and reconciliations, while gaining exposure to the added complexity of clinical trial accounting. This role requires someone comfortable operating with the rigor of a public company (SOX, SEC reporting support, external audit) while also being flexible and resourceful in a small-team, early-stage environment where responsibilities span broadly. The ideal candidate has some biotech or life sciences exposure and is eager to grow their technical accounting skills while helping build scalable processes. What You'll Do General Accounting & Close Prepare journal entries, accrual schedules, and account reconciliations as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process Process accounts payable invoices and support vendor management and payment activities Maintain the general ledger and subledgers, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and timely Assist with flux analysis and variance explanations for management review Support purchase order and contract tracking processes Help document and maintain accounting policies and procedures as the company grows Assist with the evaluation and implementation of accounting systems and tools (ERP, expense management, etc.) Other special projects and ad-hoc duties as needed Clinical Trial & R&D Accounting Support tracking of CRO/CMO contracts, purchase orders, and spend against budget in partnership with Clinical Operations Assist in preparing and updating clinical trial accrual calculations Review vendor invoices and contracts for proper account coding and supporting documentation Public Company Reporting & Compliance Prepare supporting schedules and reconciliations for financial statement preparation Assist with SOX 404 compliance, including documentation and testing of internal controls Prepare audit support schedules and respond to auditor requests (PBC items) Payroll Support payroll processing, including preparation of payroll journal entries Assist with new hire payroll onboarding and recordkeeping What You'll Bring Required Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or industry experience Solid working knowledge of US GAAP Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP/financial systems (NetSuite or similar; Ramp; Auxilius) Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Preferred Prior experience in biotech, pharma, or life sciences Exposure to SOX compliance and/or public company reporting Familiarity with clinical trial accrual accounting or CRO/CMO vendor relationships CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification Comfort working in a small team where roles are broad and priorities shift quickly Hybrid (Philadelphia, PA or Boston, MA) Dynamic, interactive, fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment At Damora Therapeutics, we offer competitive compensation and thoughtfully designed total rewards aligned with industry benchmarks.
