X Three Current Letters of Recommendation (dated within one year of application) SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: The Administrator for Educational Strategy, Leadership Development, and Innovation is an integral member of the Executive Leadership Team and provides executive-level assistance to the Superintendent of Schools. The position provides districtwide leadership for academic strategy, research, data-informed systems, professional learning, educator evaluation, leadership development, school improvement, and strategic initiatives aligned to the EHPS vision, goals, and instructional priorities; works closely with the Superintendent and Executive Leadership Team; helps align district systems, identify operational efficiencies, support instructional improvement, strengthen organizational coherence, and advance data-informed decision-making in support of student achievement and organizational excellence; provides leadership, supervision, and evaluation of assigned staff; coordinates professional development systems; supports educator evaluation processes; manages assigned projects, reporting systems, instructional research, and assessment coordination; and collaborates across departments, schools, government, community, business, and higher education partners; under the direction of the Superintendent or designee leads the strategic monitoring, analysis, and reporting of systemwide data and ensures effective, timely communication through innovative and varied approaches that advance the East Hartford Public Schools strategic planning framework. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of EHPS programs, strategic initiatives, procedures and practices, policies and regulations, and budget processes; ability to manage and deliver large-scale projects, respond to the diverse needs of stakeholders, and collect, analyze, and prepare data, reports, and other materials to support the Superintendent's Office; demonstrated expertise in educational assessment and accountability, school improvement planning, program evaluation, data analysis and reporting, large-scale educational data systems, educator evaluation systems, strategic planning, organizational leadership, curriculum, instruction, and effective teaching practices; strong analytical, organizational, conceptual, communication, interpersonal, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail, and work effectively with all levels of the organization; demonstrated ability to provide a high level of service and responsiveness to internal stakeholders and contribute to districtwide planning and continuous improvement efforts; success in coalition and relationship building across diverse stakeholder groups; ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment when handling sensitive data, plans, analyses, and personnel matters; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft SharePoint, Google applications, instructional technology tools, reporting platforms, content management systems, and social media platforms; commitment to collaboration, innovation, equity, accountability, professional growth, and continuous organizational improvement. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Educational Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field; minimum of three years of teaching experience; minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in education or a related field, including at least five years of successful leadership experience within a school district or educational organization; previous school-based and central office administrative experience required; secondary administrative experience preferred but not required; demonstrated success with administrative and supervisory responsibilities, professional development coordination or presentation, and leadership of complex educational initiatives; thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching; ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders and serve as a contributing member of a high-performing team; such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable. Leadership, Supervision, and Evaluation
• Provide executive-level leadership for districtwide academic strategy, professional learning, research, data-informed systems, and strategic initiatives aligned to the EHPS vision, goals, and instructional priorities.
• Supervise, support, and evaluate assigned staff in accordance with district expectations, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable East Hartford Public School policies.
• Provide clear direction, coaching, feedback, and accountability to assigned staff to ensure alignment with district priorities, role expectations, and measurable outcomes.
• Support the development of leadership capacity across assigned staff and district teams through ongoing communication, professional learning, and performance-based feedback.
• Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and contribute to districtwide decision-making, strategic planning, and implementation monitoring.
• Prepare reports, presentations, recommendations, and analyses to support the Superintendent, Executive Leadership Team, Board of Education, and district initiatives.
Professional Development and Educator Evaluation
• Plan, coordinate, and support districtwide professional development, including new teacher orientation, new teacher induction, summer leadership meetings, administrator training, and professional learning for certified and non-certified staff.
• Assist administrators and supervisors in planning, coordinating, and implementing department-based, school-based, and districtwide professional development that is meaningful, coherent, actionable, and aligned to district priorities.
• Serve as the district lead for the continuous review, revision, and implementation of certified staff evaluation plans.
• Act as the administrative lead for the Professional Development and Evaluation Committee, as assigned.
• Coordinate and provide ongoing training, orientation, and technical assistance for administrators to support successful implementation of the educator evaluation plan.
• Serve as District Team Facilitator
• Serve as a secondary evaluator as needed and/or requested by district administrators.
• Plan and oversee teacher leadership development opportunities, including structures that support teachers seeking leadership roles in a non-administrative capacity.
Academic Research, Data Strategy, and Accountability
• Coordinate and support the development and maintenance of data tools, reporting systems, platforms, and professional learning opportunities that inform instruction and enhance student outcomes.
• Collaborate across departments to facilitate access to high-quality data and reporting structures that support decision-making and the district's strategic planning framework.
• Understand key performance indicators that drive the EHPS system of measurement, reporting, and analytics across departments and how these metrics align with district goals and objectives.
• Compile, interpret, and communicate data to determine program needs, inform instruction, and support principals in the effective implementation of school improvement plans.
• Research emerging trends, innovative practices, instructional strategies, and data analysis approaches to support continuous improvement efforts.
• Identify and recommend structures and initiatives, in collaboration with executive leadership, that encourage, support, and assess innovative practices in the use of data.
