Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid state Special Education Teaching certification
• Experience with self-contained classrooms preferred
• Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff
• Flexibility, patience, and a commitment to inclusive education

Responsibilities:

• Plan, adapt, and deliver lessons aligned with IEP goals
• Conduct assessments and track student progress
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Facilitate communication between school and families regarding student growth
• Create a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment
• Implement behavioral and academic interventions when necessary
• Maintain compliance with paperwork and reporting requirements
