The position of Language Access Facilitation Manager is for the purposes of supporting district-wide implementation of a language access plan. They will oversee implementation of a language access program while serving as a point of contact for external stakeholders, including families, community members, Office of Education Ombuds, and OSPI. They will also serve as a point of contact for district personnel at school sites and provide staff training around language access services. Hours Per Day: 3.5 Contract Type: Temporary (Ending 8/31/2027) Anticipated Start Date: 11/1/2026 Benefits--Medical/Dental/Vision through SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board) are provided for employees who work at least 630 hours per academic year. SALARY: 39,684.99 - 79,115.94

Plans, schedules, and monitors language access services. Serves as the primary contact for families, community members, and school district staff for all interpretation and translation requests. Collaborates with schools and departments for the provision of language access services. Ensures compliance with state and federal laws related to language access. Collects and reports data as required by state and federal law, and district policy, including annual reporting. Provides training to district staff on protocols for language access services. Provides training as required for language and bilingual specialists, including translators and interpreters. Manages communication functions as required for the position. Sources suitable language consultants to provide services, including interpretation and translation. Effectively communicates with internal stakeholders, language and bilingual specialists, families, and the community to ensure high quality services and products are provided. Responds in a timely and professional manner to inquiries concerning language access services. Contracts with language consultants to arrange different projects and services. Maintains records as needed. Coordinates assignment of language specialists and other staff as required. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Required: Associate degree in related field or the equivalent of post-secondary education. Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of study preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a language access coordinator or in a similar role in the language industry. Bilingual or multilingual skills in a language common to our community required. Knowledge of community-based resources related to the duties of the position. Knowledge of language access laws, policies, and procedures at the local, state, and federal levels Previous experience working with educational materials. Demonstrates ability to interact professionally, positively, and appropriately with a variety of stakeholders. Communicates effectively and professionally verbally, nonverbally and in written form with a variety of stakeholders. Understands basic public and community relations techniques. Ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously. Demonstrates effective personal organizing skills to manage the daily activities associated with the position. Possesses problem-solving skills and applies them on a regular basis. Ability and willingness to adapt to a variety of changing needs. Ability to meet and maintain reports. Ability to use variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office and Office365, including navigation and keyboarding skills as needed. Ability to use spreadsheet and database software. Accurate word processing and data input. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, teachers, parents, and administrators in a confidential manner. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with all applicable Board policies and district and legal requirements. Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations.
