Electric Motor Winder

Job Description

We are looking for an Electric Motor Winder to service AC induction, DC, synchronous, and mixed motor types. The role performs winding, insulation, testing, and documentation activities using manual winding equipment, computerized winding machinery, core-loss testers, surge testers, and combination equipment. This position reports to the Shop Supervisor, handles troubleshooting of winding defects, and offers pay based on experience.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collect and document winding data.
  • Remove existing windings from stators.
  • Wind coils using manual and computerized winding equipment.
  • Install coils and insulate stators.
  • Rewind stators for AC induction, DC, synchronous, and mixed motor types.
  • Perform core-loss and electrical testing using core-loss and surge testers.
  • Document winding work and test results.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and identify winding defects.

 

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in electric motor winding.
  • Knowledge of electric motor winding, coil winding, and stator rewinding.
  • Experience with core-loss testing and electrical testing.
  • Knowledge of motor insulation systems.
  • Experience collecting winding data.
