Construction Attorney – Design Professionals PracticeOur client is seeking an experienced Construction Attorney to join their growing New York office. This attorney will focus on representing architects, engineers, and other design professionals in connection with construction projects, contracts, risk management, and day-to-day legal counseling.The ideal candidate will have experience serving as trusted counsel to design professionals, advising on the negotiation and drafting of professional services agreements, construction contracts, project disputes, and business-related matters. We are particularly interested in attorneys who understand the unique legal and business issues facing architects, engineers, and construction industry clients. While the position is primarily advisory and transactional, experience handling construction litigation, professional liability matters, or design defect disputes is a plus.ResponsibilitiesAdvise architects, engineers, and other design professionals on legal and business mattersDraft, review, and negotiate professional services agreements and construction-related contractsCounsel clients on risk management, project delivery, and contract administrationAssist clients with dispute avoidance and resolution strategiesProvide practical day-to-day legal guidance throughout the lifecycle of construction and development projectsSupport litigation and dispute matters when necessaryQualifications8+ years of experience in construction lawExperience with AIA contractsAdmission to practice in New YorkAbility to serve as outside general counsel to sophisticated design and construction clientsStrong drafting, negotiation, and client counseling skillsLitigation experience is a plus but not requiredThis is an excellent opportunity to join a growing practice and work closely with architects, engineers, and other design professionals on sophisticated construction and business matters.
