Experience: Minimum of one year performing ultrasound procedures preferred

License: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification required upon hire/transfer

Certifications: Registered in OB/GYN with RDMS within one year of hire/transfer. Must meet the American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renew BLS every two years. Must-Have: Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Knowledge of physician office procedures, ICD-9, and CPT coding guidelines. Knowledge of ultrasound equipment and procedures, protocols, and safety hazards common to administering ultrasounds. Ability to recognize normal and pathological features. Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures. Ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment problems and perform simple adjustments. Skill in the production and communication of sonograms.

Description: Perform ultrasound procedures to assist in the diagnosis of medical conditions. Completion of a specialized training program in Ultrasonic Technology or on-the-job training with a registered sonographer is preferred. This position receives general supervision from the Practice Manager. No supervision is given. Position urgency is normal. Holiday coverage is not required.
