Instructional Assistant - Biddeford, ME

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience as a paraprofessional (standard Para-62), certified nursing assistant (CNA-64), or registered behavior technician (RBT-67) is highly valued
Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
Patience, adaptability, and a strong desire to help students with diverse needs
Knowledge of classroom management strategies is desirable
Must be able to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans when necessary

Responsibilities:

Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans, classroom activities, and individualized support
Work one-on-one or in small groups with students requiring additional guidance, including those with special educational or behavioral needs
Encourage student engagement and positive social interactions
Help maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
Support students with mobility or physical needs, including basic care or behavior assistance where applicable
Document student progress and share observations with teaching and support staff
