Job Title: Electrician Job Description
This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment on construction projects. The electrician works with wiring, transformers, switchgear, motors, and various types of conduit while ensuring all work meets industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. The position involves troubleshooting electrical issues, interpreting technical diagrams and blueprints, coordinating with other trades, and supporting apprentices through training and mentorship.
Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment, including wiring, transformers, switchgear, motors, and related electrical components.
• Bend and install various types of conduit, including EMT, rigid, and PVC, in accordance with project specifications and electrical codes.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions to restore safe and reliable operation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical diagrams to plan and execute electrical installations and modifications.
• Install electrical systems in compliance with industry standards, local codes, and applicable regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to verify compliance with safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Coordinate work activities with other trades and contractors on construction sites to support efficient project workflows and timely completion.
• Train and mentor apprentices and other electricians, sharing technical knowledge and promoting safe work practices.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including installations, repairs, inspections, and materials used.
• Adhere to internal tool policies and demonstrate a proactive willingness to invest in, care for, and maintain the tools required to perform electrical work effectively.

Essential Skills

• At least 4 years of experience in electrical construction.
• Strong proficiency in conduit bending and wire installation across EMT, rigid, and PVC applications.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
• Demonstrated experience with electrical troubleshooting and problem diagnosis in construction environments.
• Hands-on experience with wiring, transformers, switchgear, motors, and general electrical installation work.
• TDLR Apprentice Card.
• Ability to work effectively on construction sites and coordinate with multiple trades.
• Capability to maintain clear and accurate documentation of work performed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working on multi-phase or long-duration construction projects.
• Comfort with mentoring apprentices and supporting the development of less experienced electricians.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to following electrical codes and safety standards.
• Ability to manage and maintain a personal set of tools appropriate for the electrical trade.

Work Environment
This position is based on active construction sites, working with electrical systems such as wiring, transformers, switchgear, motors, and various conduit types including EMT, rigid, and PVC. The work involves reading and applying construction blueprints and technical diagrams, collaborating closely with other trades, and performing tasks in a physically active environment that may include standing, bending, and working with tools and equipment throughout the shift. The project runs over multiple phases, with an initial 68 week period and potential transfer to subsequent phases on a two-year project, offering a structured and consistent work schedule aligned with construction activities.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Garland, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $37.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
