Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU

Registered Nurse - Step-Down Unit

Shift Type: Days/Nights - Weekend Coverage: Typically 1/month

Contract Length: 13 weeks - Guaranteed Hours: Not explicitly stated

Valid Illinois RN license required

Minimum 2 years RN experience required

Certifications: ACLS, NIHSS, BLS

Experience with stroke and cardiac populations preferred

Experience with Cerner for charting required

Key clinical skills: ventilator care, telemetry, IV start/maintenance, central line/PICC care, trach care, CRRT familiarity, IABP exposure, management of post-thrombolytic stroke care

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the step-down unit

Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and neurological status

Administer medications and coordinate patient care according to established protocols

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

Educate patients and families on post-procedural care and health management

Maintain documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations

No RTO first week; max ~7 days RTO per 13-week contract

May be asked to float within the service line or to affiliated hospitals

Background checks and drug screens may be required
