Job Summary:

We are seeking a Patient Services Specialist to support patient communication and administrative operations in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will handle incoming calls, assist with patient inquiries, route messages to the appropriate care teams, and support appointment scheduling processes while maintaining professionalism and patient confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming patient calls through the Genesys call center system.
• Communicate with appropriate teams using Microsoft Teams.
• Forward new-patient scheduling requests securely to the Intake Team.
• Warm-transfer calls to available care team members.
• Create telephone encounters in Epic using the designated call intake template when the care team is unavailable.
• Route telephone encounters to the appropriate care team pool in Epic.
• Provide general information, including clinic addresses, appointment confirmations, and fax numbers.
• Assist Patient Care Coordinators with additional administrative tasks as needed.
• Follow assigned office rotation schedules and departmental procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and protect confidential patient information.

Required Qualifications:

• At least one year of experience in a medical office or related healthcare setting.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle incoming calls and route messages accurately.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with electronic health records (EHR), particularly Epic.
• Experience with call center systems such as Genesys.
• Previous experience in patient scheduling or healthcare customer service.
