Field Service Technician

Field Service Technician Location: New York Company: Munters Corporation Salary: $30.14 – $39.16 per hour Job Description Field Service Technicians travel to customer sites to safely repair, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial and industrial dehumidification equipment. The role requires working independently and strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Responsibilities Travel to customer sites to perform service and customer support. Diagnose and correct malfunctions on all equipment. Provide customer training on standard Munters equipment. Provide technical feedback on equipment by submitting detailed field service reports. Communicate professionally with customers in a service‑oriented manner both in person, writing and on the phone. Promote sales and service of company equipment. Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in the commercial or industrial HVAC industry or equivalent combined work experience and successful completion of HVAC/R vocational school. Ability to travel extensively (80% of time) and by plane. Ability to obtain a CFC Certification within 90 days of hire. Experience with HVAC/Refrigeration systems and components PLC (Programmable Logical Controls) highly preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic knowledge of electrical schematics. Physical fitness to lift up to 55 lbs with proper lift techniques; ability to perform tasks requiring heavy work, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and to stand long periods of time. Visual acuity for tasks such as reading data, viewing computer terminals. Physical Requirements Exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to move objects. Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting. Ability to stand up to 8 hours per day. Work Conditions Must wear PPE: safety glasses, safety boots, hard hats, hearing protection. Ability to travel and be away from home for several days at a time. Willingness to take on‑call duties, occasional weekends/holidays, and work outdoors in all weather. Ability to work 6 feet or more above ground, use harness and tie‑off points, ladder safety methods. Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. HVAC school or equivalent. Preferred Skills/Certifications HVAC/R with commercial/industrial technical skills or trade school.
