Job Description
Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Scheduling Details

Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed

Charting Requirements

EPIC experience required; Non-Epic-CPN/GE Centricity
Requests for time off, block scheduling, and special scheduling should be submitted upon application
The client may cancel up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period without incurring charges for canceled hours

Licenses and Certifications

Must have an active New York Single State RN license (Pending licenses are not accepted)
Required Certifications:
- OB-ACLS or ACLS
- BLS
- EFM certification
- NRP

Clinical Skills

Assist with vaginal deliveries
Circulate during C-sections and recover C-section patients
Manage Magnesium Sulfate therapy and Pitocin (oxytocin, Terbutaline)
Conduct APGAR scores assessments
Baby nurse responsibilities ("Baby Catcher") including ID and Security Banding
Manage radiant warmers and thermoregulation
Foley catheter insertion and management
Provide care for fundus, lochia, perineum, and postpartum hemorrhage
Monitor pregnancy-induced hypertension
Perform Non-Stress Tests (NST) and utilize External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM)
Place and calibrate Intrauterine Pressure Catheters (IUPC)

Unit Information

Caring for all pregnant patients at any gestational age and postpartum patients within 6 weeks of delivery
Utilize GE Fetal & Telemetry Monitors, Monica wireless fetal monitoring, Neopuff, and Draeger newborn warmers
Floating within skill set may be required
Scrub color is provided by the facility
