Assistant General Counsel

The incumbent will represent the agency, its Board, and agency personnel in legal proceedings and will be responsible for a wide array of legal issues to include employment law, constitutional law and civil rights, EMTALA, mental health law, department investigations, legislation, policies, ethics, and litigation in all state and federal courts along with other tribunals.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Level II

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• A license to practice law in State of Oklahoma
• An active membership of the Oklahoma Bar Association
• Two years of legal experience or adjudicative experience

Level III

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• A license to practice law in State of Oklahoma
• An active membership of the Oklahoma Bar Association
• Five years of legal experience or adjudicative experience.

Special Requirements:

• Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver's license.

About ODMHSAS: The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is the state's mental health and substance use treatment services system. The department's core mission is to provide prevention and treatment services for Oklahomans who are indigent and without a means to pay.
