Job Title

Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit / Clinical Decision Unit (Days)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every other weekend required | No on-call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an inpatient overflow unit serving a mixed level of care, including medical-surgical and step-down patients
• Manage care for short-stay patients (less than 24-hour length of stay) with a focus on quick patient turnover
• Monitor and interpret telemetry for all patients hardwired to bedside monitors as indicated
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5, with stretch to 1:6 dependent on level of care
• Document and manage patient records using Cerner EMR
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing and census demands

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive care (PCU/step-down) experience
• Demonstrated telemetry competency
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Recent progressive care or step-down unit experience in an acute care setting
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Positive, patient-experience-focused attitude with strong team collaboration skills
