Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must meet the facility’s flu vaccination requirement; declinations and exemptions are not accepted.
- Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and health benefit plans.
- At least 1 year of recent outpatient clinic experience .
- Experience working in a high-volume call center or phone-based customer service environment.
- Ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed oral and written instructions.
- EPIC experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of recent experience working as a Patient Service Representative (PSR).
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong preference for candidates with cardiology or vascular clinic/unit experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing assistance in person and over the phone.
- Greet patients, address concerns, and escalate issues to the appropriate department or personnel when necessary.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out, collect copayments, issue receipts, and reconcile payments.
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information in Epic/CS-Link.
- Schedule appointments and complete patient registration accurately.
- Process, coordinate, and track referrals and insurance authorizations across various health plans.
- Manage patient and provider correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
- Explain clinic policies, procedures, and available services to patients.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace by using approved supplies and following departmental guidelines.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has recent outpatient clinic experience, strong patient service skills, knowledge of medical insurance and referrals, and hands-on experience using Epic. Candidates with cardiology or vascular clinic experience are strongly preferred.
