At e123, we deliver a powerful, widely-used core SaaS product in a premier position central to our industry, and our team knows as much as anyone about the complexities of the United States healthcare insurance distribution network.Job DescriptionThe QA Automation Engineer is a role on our engineering team focused on test strategy and automation for web applications and REST APIs. You will design, build, and maintain automated test suites; define test strategy across unit, integration, E2E, and API testing; and advocate for quality across the SDLC. You will work alongside product and engineering in an agile workflow, integrate tests into CI/CD, and collaborate with developers on testability, API contracts, and acceptance criteria. Our team uses feature branches and pull requests with code review for all changes, including tests and documentation. Documentation and runbooks live in the repo so specs and test strategy stay easy to find and update.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain automated test suites for web UIs and REST APIsDefine test strategy (unit, integration, E2E, API) and advocate for quality across the SDLCIntegrate tests into CI/CD and monitor stability and coverageCollaborate with developers on testability, API contracts, and acceptance criteriaDocument test approach, flake handling, and automation patterns for the teamParticipate in team ceremonies and code review as part of our PR-based workflowRequired Skills & ExperienceExperience with Playwright, or adjacent tools (e.g. Cypress, Selenium), for cross-browser E2E testsExperience with Jest, or similar JavaScript/TypeScript test frameworks, for unit and integration testingExperience with Postman (collections, environments, CI integration) and/or code-based API testsFamiliarity with OpenAPI and spec-driven or contract testingExperience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and interpreting resultsComfort with modern testing patterns (e.g. Page Object–style, data-driven tests, parallel execution, clear reporting)Critical thinking and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to take initiative and proactively provide solutionsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComfortable working in a fast-moving, rapidly evolving environmentExperience with JIRA or a similar ticketing system is a plusExperience using AI tooling (e.g. Cursor, Copilot) to author or maintain tests is a plus
