Commercial Underwriter

This is a banking position - Miami market experience required This individual will be responsible for independently analyzing, structuring, and underwriting commercial credit requests, with a particular focus on Small Business lending, Lines of Credit, and Accounts Receivable financing . This is a highly specialized role requiring extensive commercial credit expertise, strong knowledge of the South Florida market, and prior community banking experience. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of hands‑on commercial underwriting experience and be comfortable working onsite in Coconut Grove. Independently underwrite complex commercial credit requests, including new loans, renewals, modifications, and extensions. Underwrite Small Business commercial loans and Lines of Credit. Analyze Accounts Receivable financing and evaluate the quality and collectability of receivables. Perform detailed financial statement, tax return, cash flow, and global cash flow analysis. Evaluate borrower and guarantor financial strength, repayment capacity, collateral, and overall credit risk. Analyze borrowing base structures and working capital needs when applicable. Prepare comprehensive credit approval memorandums and provide clear credit recommendations. Structure commercial credit facilities based on borrower needs, repayment capacity, and identified risks. Identify credit weaknesses, mitigating factors, policy exceptions, and appropriate risk ratings. Evaluate collateral supporting commercial credit facilities, including Accounts Receivable and other business assets. Establish and evaluate financial covenants and other credit conditions. Partner with Commercial Lenders and Relationship Managers throughout the underwriting and approval process. Complete annual reviews and ongoing credit analysis for existing commercial relationships. Monitor borrower performance, covenant compliance, and changes in credit quality. Ensure all underwriting complies with the Bank's credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a strong understanding of the South Florida commercial banking and business market. Job Qualifications Minimum 10 years of commercial underwriting experience within a bank required. Community banking experience required. Current or recent South Florida banking market experience required. Strong experience underwriting Small Business commercial loans required. Strong experience underwriting commercial Lines of Credit required. Experience with Accounts Receivable financing required. Extensive commercial credit and financial analysis experience. Strong knowledge of business financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, and global cash flow analysis. Experience preparing detailed commercial credit approval memorandums. Strong understanding of loan structuring, collateral analysis, borrowing bases, covenants, and risk ratings. Strong knowledge of commercial banking credit policies and regulatory requirements. Formal commercial credit training preferred. Excellent credit judgment, analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Must be able to work onsite in Coconut Grove, Florida. #J-18808-Ljbffr
