Lottery Field Service Technician

YOUR ROLE IN THE BRIGHTSTAR UNIVERSE

The Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining and servicing Brightstar equipment at retailer (customer) locations. The technician responds to dispatches and drives to customer locations within a specified zone to deliver supplies and to install, remove, or repair lottery equipment and communication devices. This position is based in Monterey County, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Transport, install (if applicable), and maintain Brightstar equipment, replacement parts, tools, and related materials in an organized manner. Attend driver training and follow Brightstar vehicle policy regarding the use and maintenance of the company vehicle. Maintain equipment to promote continuous operation of Brightstar products. Troubleshoot and restore malfunctioning equipment in the field, including swapping failed components, cleaning, and minor adjustments. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, accurately reporting activity, arrival and departure times, problems, and resolutions. Deliver marketing supplies and consumable parts such as paper, ribbons, betslips, etc., and track inventory of these items. Provide basic training to new retailers or refresher training to retailers performing procedures incorrectly (e.g., changing paper and ribbon). Complete basic forms for reporting activities, equipment problems, and recommendations for procedural improvements.

YOUR STAR QUALITIES

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. 1 or more years of experience in a customer service‑related position. 1 or more years of experience in technical repairs, IT support, PC skills, automotive, or mechanical type skills. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to climb a ladder and lift/carry equipment up to 50 pounds over a significant distance. Ability to sit and drive for prolonged periods and demonstrate dexterity when working with tools, moving parts, and electrical current. Willingness to work at heights (rooftop installation), in close quarters, and be exposed to inclement weather during some installations.

SUCCESS PROFILE

Leading Complexity Leading People Leading the Business Leading Self The estimated starting compensation for this role is $19.00 – $28.00 per hour, with actual pay potentially higher or lower based on background, skills, experience, and location. Non‑exempt roles may receive discretionary bonuses.
