The Construction Accountant Assistant / Front Desk role supports a large specialty contractor in the construction industry by combining accounting, accounts receivable, and billing tasks. This position requires a motivated, detail-oriented individual who excels at multitasking and working collaboratively within the accounting team and with external vendors and subcontractors. The role demands strong organizational skills, communication abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Process monthly vendor receivables and customer AIA billing accurately and efficiently under supervision
• Manage end-to-end monthly billing of AIA requisitions
• Collaborate closely with operations management to ensure timely submission and understanding of required documentation
• Review subcontractor and customer monthly applications for accuracy and consistency
• Track payments and follow up to ensure timely receipt
• Examine Certificates of Insurance and Endorsements for completeness and compliance with company requirements
• Coordinate with contractors to verify insurance policy coverage and cancellation when necessary
• Assist in procuring insurance coverage for projects
• Support research, filing, data entry, and maintain accurate financial records
• Prepare customer statements, invoices, and related financial documents
• Contribute to accounting team efforts by compiling and analyzing data and tracking information
• Take on additional accounting and office operation tasks to expand skills

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
• Aptitude for math and computer literacy
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
• Organized, meticulous, responsible, and reliable with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Motivated and eager to take on challenges and learn

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of accounting experience, preferably with emphasis in construction
