Accounting Clerk

The Ferraro Law Firm, P.A. is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Clerk to join our Accounting Department. This position is responsible for supporting the accuracy, organization, and timely processing of the Firm’s financial transactions, with particular emphasis on bank reconciliations, check disbursements, and financial recordkeeping. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with detailed financial information, and able to communicate professionally with clients, family members, and internal departments when resolving payment-related matters. Key Responsibilities Perform bank reconciliations for the Firm’s trust, operating, and cost accounts. Review and resolve discrepancies involving check disbursement information and related accounting records. Communicate directly and professionally with clients and/or their relatives regarding uncashed checks and outstanding payment matters. Collaborate with other departments to help minimize payment delays associated with probate matters, Medicare liens, and other settlement-related issues. Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of financial transactions, reconciliations, and accounting reports. Maintain organized filing and recordkeeping of accounting documents, including electronic and physical records as applicable. Research discrepancies and follow through on outstanding accounting items until properly resolved. Assist the Accounting Department with additional reconciliation, reporting, and administrative responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Prior accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, or financial administrative experience preferred. Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to reconcile financial information and identify discrepancies. Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential financial and client information with discretion. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general accounting or financial software. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
