Community Manager

Job Summary A direct hire opportunity is available for an experienced Community Manager in San Diego, CA. This role is ideal for a senior multifamily property management professional who is confident leading daily operations, driving resident satisfaction, overseeing financial performance, and managing a large-scale residential community. The Community Manager will play a key leadership role in leasing, resident relations, budgeting, maintenance coordination, compliance, reporting, and overall property performance. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with property leadership, maintenance, and support teams in a collaborative environment focused on operational excellence, accountability, and long-term community success. Key Responsibilities Manage overall property operations, including leasing, pricing, resident retention, rent collections, payables, office management, and resident relations. Partner closely with the Maintenance Manager and Assistant Manager to ensure property goals, service standards, and operational priorities are met. Oversee financial operations, including annual operating budgets, capital budgets, forecasting, reporting, and expense management. Review proposals, contracts, vendor activity, and property inspections to support compliance, quality, and cost control. Ensure adherence to California landlord and tenant laws, Fair Housing regulations, company policies, and property management best practices. Lead and support on-site teams to deliver a positive resident experience and strong property performance. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $110,000 to $120,000 per year. Job type: Direct hire. Required Qualifications and Skills Manage daily operations for a multifamily residential property, including leasing, resident relations, collections, payables, and office administration. Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, capital planning, and operational performance management. Coordinate closely with maintenance and assistant management teams to support resident satisfaction and property standards. Oversee compliance, inspections, contracts, vendor coordination, and property management systems. Minimum 5-7+ years of multifamily property management experience. Experience managing large-scale multifamily properties, preferably 400-500+ units. Proven experience managing Class B assets or better. Strong financial acumen with hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and expense control. In-depth knowledge of California landlord and tenant laws and Fair Housing regulations. Proficiency with property management software such as MRI, Yardi, On-Site, LRO, RealPage solutions, BuildingLink, or similar platforms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and resident service skills. Valid driver's license required. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of multifamily property management experience in a senior community management role. Experience overseeing high-unit-count communities in competitive rental markets. Background managing Class B or higher multifamily assets in California. Advanced proficiency with Yardi, MRI, RealPage, LRO, On-Site, BuildingLink, or similar property management technology.
