Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Opportunity

Wilson Health is looking for a direct hire Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for our location in Troy, Ohio (North Dayton, Ohio) area. This part-time position offers 24 hours a week, with working hours from 8AM to 5:30PM on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and Friday if needed.

Position Reports to: WHMG - OB/GYN Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will perform high-quality ultrasound examinations while ensuring patient comfort and collaborating closely with physicians to support accurate diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, producing high-quality images for physician interpretation.
• Experience performing obstetric, gynecologic, and other diagnostic ultrasound examinations is preferred.
• Clearly explain imaging procedures to patients, helping to create a calm and supportive environment.
• Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper calibration and adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
• Work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare staff by providing high-quality images and relevant observations.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including procedure details and clinical documentation.
• Operate ultrasound equipment to capture images of organs, tissues, and blood flow.
• Review patient medical history to determine appropriate imaging techniques and protocols.
• Analyze images for quality and ensure they are suitable for diagnostic purposes.
• Identify normal versus abnormal findings and communicate preliminary observations to physicians, within the scope of practice.
• Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment according to established standards.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and patient care protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
• Current certification (e.g., ARDMS) preferred or required based on facility standards.
• Experience with MFM ultrasound protocols, high-risk obstetric imaging, fetal assessment, and detailed fetal anatomy examinations is preferred.
• Experience working closely with Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians and other members of a multidisciplinary care team is preferred.
• State licensure may be required depending on location
• Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift or assist patients weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive scanning motions.
• Comfortable bending, reaching, and repositioning patients as needed.
• Ability to operate and move imaging equipment in a clinical setting.
