Payroll & Accounting Specialist

• Day-to-Day Core Responsibilities:
  
  
  • Reconcile payroll disbursements and ensure payroll transactions are accurate.
    
    
  • Code payroll-related expenses to the appropriate general ledger (GL) accounts (which will be trained)
    
    
  • Gather and validate payroll and financial data for processing and reporting.
    
    
  • Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries in QuickBooks.
    
    
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the organization's chart of accounts and GL structure.
    
    
  • Process full-cycle payroll, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
    
    
  • Reconcile employee hours and payroll expenses.
    
    
  • Review coach employment agreements to verify pay rates, stipends, and compensation structures.
    
    
  • Process payroll deductions, including garnishments and other withholdings.
    
    
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and reconciliation issues.
    
    
  • Ensure compliance with payroll policies, tax regulations, and internal controls.
