Bookkeeper

Location: Annapolis, MD

Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site

Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 annually

Position Overview

Our client, a growing and well-established organization in Annapolis, is seeking a detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day accounting operations of the business. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end reporting.

The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, be highly organized, and possess advanced working knowledge of QuickBooks . This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of the accounting function and working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full cycle of bookkeeping functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger maintenance
• Process vendor invoices, payments, and customer billings
• Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Generate financial reports, including Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow reports
• Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting activities
• Process payroll and maintain payroll records, as needed
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
• Work closely with leadership and external CPA partners to support accounting and financial reporting needs
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full charge bookkeeping experience
• Strong proficiency with QuickBooks is required
• Experience handling Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping functions
• Understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
