Position Type: Direct Hire | 100% Onsite
Schedule: Flexible schedule of 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Compensation: $80,000 - $83,000 annually D.O.E.

Position Overview

A well-established international logistics and supply chain organization is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to lead daily transportation, transloading, and ocean import operations. This role is responsible for overseeing a team of office and warehouse personnel, managing import shipments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining efficient supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong freight forwarding experience, leadership capabilities, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, coach, and support transload, logistics, and operations personnel while ensuring productivity and service standards are met.
• Oversee ocean import shipments from overseas partners, including shipment tracking, document review, and milestone updates.
• Manage customs and import processes, including ISF compliance, customs entry coordination, arrival notices, and shipment release requirements.
• Coordinate LCL and FCL freight movements, dispatch transportation providers, and monitor shipment availability and delivery performance.
• Resolve shipment delays, customs holds, damages, shortages, overages, and other operational exceptions.
• Work closely with warehouse and dock teams to coordinate inbound receiving, transloading activities, outbound shipments, and trailer requirements.
• Review vendor invoices, manage shipment-related payments, and support billing and file closeout processes.
• Maintain customer communication, provide shipment status updates, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Develop and improve operational procedures, work instructions, and compliance initiatives while supporting quality and safety standards.
• Crosstrain team members and support continuous improvement across multiple logistics functions.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent experience within freight forwarding; import/export operations, transportation management, or third-party logistics (3PL) environments.
• 3-5 years’ experience managing and developing teams of approximately 4-6 employees.
• Strong understanding of ocean import operations, customs coordination, LCL/FCL freight, transloading, and transportation processes.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated job stability and commitment to long-term professional growth.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience utilizing CargoWise software highly preferred and MS Office Suite required.
• Knowledge of ISF filings, customs documentation, and shipment compliance requirements.

• Combination of office and logistics operations environment.
• May require exposure to warehouse, dock, and transportation settings.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.
