Job Responsibilities Assess patients of varying age groups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations, utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods. Create individualized treatment plans addressing immediate concerns and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives. Implement one-on-one speech therapy sessions tailored to enhance communication skills, including language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing mechanisms. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families, to craft integrated care strategies. Provide valuable education to patients and their families to facilitate progress outside of therapy sessions. Occasionally conduct inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring consistent care throughout the therapeutic process. Maintain accurate documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational regulations. Engage in continuous professional development and peer collaboration to stay updated with advancements within the field. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified. Certifications State licensure for Speech Language Pathologists. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Skills Expertise in evidence-based practices for diverse ages and a solid understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication abilities with patients, families, and integrated care teams. Capability to adjust therapy methods to accommodate varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
