Responsibilities

We are seeking a special counsel with 7+ years of experience to join our litigation team in one of our major East Coast offices. Candidates should have an interest in working on insurance and reinsurance disputes and developing pretrial and trial practice. Responsibilities include drafting complex submissions, preparing witnesses, managing expert discovery, and participating in trial practice. Many of these disputes are tried in an arbitral setting, which requires strong advocacy skills. Candidates must be comfortable growing into a role where they will be given significant responsibility. Please note this is a senior, off-track position.

Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at the firm. Therefore, the firm requires working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firm's published hybrid guidelines.

Qualifications

• Academic Background: Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Bar Admission: Must be admitted or eligible for immediate admission to the relevant state bar for the designated office location.
• Experience: 7+ years of experience handling complex litigation matters, with a strong interest in arbitration trial practice. An insurance or reinsurance background is preferred.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with professionalism in working and engaging with demanding clients.
• Work Management: Ability to balance, prioritize, and manage competing responsibilities and tight deadlines.
• Technical Aptitude: Ability to stay highly organized, exercise extreme attention to detail, and work effectively within collaborative team settings.

Compensation & Benefits

• Elite Compensation: Competitive salary range of $275,000 to $305,000, with eligibility for bonuses.
