Electrical Engineer I

As an Electrical Engineer I, you will be involved in the initial phases of research, design, and development of electrical/electronic systems for aerospace and defense applications. You will assist in the design of integrated electrical/electronic systems, contributing to various stages of the product lifecycle under the guidance of senior engineers.The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.Responsibilities:Assist in the design and development of electrical/electronic systems.In some applications, support development of circuit card assemblies.Learn implementation of electrical wiring design practices.Support the testing and validation of electrical/electronic systems and components.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design specifications are met.Document technical designs, test procedures, and results.Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.Perform basic troubleshooting and debugging of electrical/electronic circuits and systems.Qualifications You Must Have:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.0-2+ years of experience in electrical engineering or related field.Basic understanding of electrical/electronic design and testing principles.Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices.Basic understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools.Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.Qualifications We Prefer:Internship or project experience in electrical engineering.Familiarity with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for electrical applications.Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis.Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.Knowledge of electrical component selection and manufacturing.Understanding of circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis.Essential Functions:Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.Ability to travel as required.Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.Precision in designing, testing and troubleshooting electrical/electronic systems and components.Ability to analyze complex electrical/electronic systems and evaluate performance data to identify problems and improve designs.Applying systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to diagnose and resolve electrical/electronic issues.Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management.Ability to understand technical documents, electrical/electronic schematics, and electronic instrument measurements.Ability to handle small components, tools, and equipment with precision.This posting will be open for application for a minimum of 5 days and may be extended based on business needs.SNC offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.IMPORTANT NOTICE: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
