We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in a part-time, onsite capacity of 24 hours per week. This Long-term Contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to core accounting operations while helping maintain accurate financial reporting and well-organized records. The ideal candidate brings hands-on accounting experience, strong Excel capabilities, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced finance environment.

Responsibilities:

• Record and post journal entries to support timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Manage day-to-day general ledger activities and help ensure the integrity of accounting data.

• Assist with account reconciliations, including bank-related balancing activities, and support the month-end close process.

• Organize and maintain financial documentation so records remain accurate, complete, and audit-ready.

• Use Excel to analyze accounting information, prepare reports, and manage financial data efficiently.

• Provide accounting support related to the transition from Great Plains to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

• Prior experience in a staff accountant or similar accounting role.
• Working knowledge of general ledger processes and core accounting principles.
• Proven ability to prepare and review journal entries accurately.
• Experience supporting reconciliations and month-end close activities.
• Strong Excel skills for reporting, analysis, and data handling.
• Ability to learn new accounting platforms and adapt to evolving systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
