Job Title: Experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Paralegal

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: 50K-90K annually, Commensurate with Experience

About the Role:

Giordano, Glaws, Fenstermacher, & Nash LLP is a full-service defense litigation firm that represents major corporations, business enterprises, municipalities, institutions, and insureds throughout New York State. We are seeking a full-time paralegal with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in defense litigation to join our team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with experience in premises, municipal liability, motor vehicle, construction and negligence cases. Strong New York litigation experience required, and experience in supporting New Jersey matters is a plus. Position is largely if not exclusively in office, not remote, with some flexibility possible over time

Key Responsibilities:

• Support attorneys in defense litigation matters, including personal injury, premises liability, and general liability claims.
• Draft legal documents including answers, discovery responses, discovery demands, subpoenas, stipulations, motions, and other legal documents for filing in New York state and federal courts
• E-filing documents through NYSCEF and PACER. Familiarity with New Jersey eCourts is preferred.
• Draft and revise pleadings, correspondence, motions, and discovery.
• Obtaining, organizing, reviewing, understanding and summarizing medical and other records
• Review, summarize and analyze discovery materials
• Conduct legal, online and factual research as needed
• Assist with trial preparation
• Transcribe correspondence and other legal documents from a dictation program
• Other tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of proven, confirmed 3+ years of defense litigation experience
• Insurance defense litigation experience required, no exceptions.
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, able to make decisions after time with minimal oversight
• Strong knowledge of NYSCEF-efiling and PACER, and proper service of documents in accordance with the applicable rules and procedures
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Experience with use of AI in a law office setting; specifically Lexis Protégé
• New Jersey court procedures and filings is a plus
