Job ID : 5782737 Starting Date : Aug 4, 2026 Position Type : Part Time Job Categories : Support Staff > Accounting/Bookkeeping Job Description Purpose Statement: The bookkeeper is responsible for providing an array of fiscal services for the student body, school buildings, and site employees. This includes conveying and updating fiscal information, ensuring fiscal practices are followed, and ensuring disbursement of funds is within proper and legal guidelines. Essential Functions Collects funds from student events (ticket sales, yearbook purchases, athletic letter distribution, etc.) to ensure accurate and timely transaction completion. Coordinates development of reports (fundraisers, account balances, budgets, etc.) to meet deadlines and comply with mandated requirements. Implements reporting procedures and internal controls to maintain accurate records and comply with the Uniform System of Financial Record Keeping, district policies, and other regulatory requirements. Informs personnel and/or vendors of required documentation and procedures. Maintains a variety of fiscal information, files, and records (accounts payable, checking accounts, accounts receivable, student activities, fees, etc.) for an up‑to‑date reference and audit trail. Monitors account balances and related financial activity to ensure allocations are accurate, revenues are generated, expenses are within budget limits, and fiscal practices are followed. Organizes “by mail” registration to support a structured registration process. Participates in student registration and withdrawal to facilitate student fee issues. Prepares cash deposits from school activities for bank deposits. Prepares written materials (reports, memos, letters, etc.) to document activities and convey information. Reconciles account balances to maintain accuracy and comply with policies and regulations. Researches discrepancies in financial information and documentation to ensure accuracy before processing. Responds to inquiries from administration, staff, students, and the business office to provide information and direction. Transports money for bank deposits and to keep cash boxes stocked for change. Other Functions Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills: Operating standard office equipment; performing accounting procedures; standard bookkeeping; preparing and maintaining accurate records; adhering to safety practices; using pertinent software applications. Knowledge: Accounting/bookkeeping principles; business telephone etiquette; computer and internet operations; concepts of grammar and punctuation; federal, state and local policies, procedures and practices; ability to read manuals, write documents in prescribed formats, and understand complex, multi‑step written and oral instructions. Abilities: Schedule activities, meetings, and events; gather, collate, and classify data; use basic job‑related equipment; adapt to changing work priorities; communicate with diverse groups; maintain confidentiality; meet deadlines; set priorities; work as part of a team; work effectively with students, staff, and community; handle detailed information and frequent interruptions; problem‑solve with data and independent interpretation of guidelines. Responsibilities Work under limited supervision following standardized practices; provide information and advising to others; monitor budget expenditures; utilize resources from other work units. Physical Demands: Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; significant fine finger dexterity.
