Senior Project Development amp Finance Associate

Job Overview A law firm is seeking a highly qualified Senior Associate to join its Project Development & Finance practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience, with a focus on project development and/or finance, ideally gained at a large national or international law firm. Location: Houston, Texas Duties Provide legal counsel on complex project development and finance matters. Assist in structuring and negotiating complex transactions, including joint ventures, financing agreements, and development contracts. Draft and review a variety of project-related legal documents, including financing agreements, development contracts, and regulatory filings. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines. Collaborate with senior attorneys, clients, and stakeholders to develop strategies for new business opportunities. Offer leadership and guidance to junior associates and paralegals. Participate in client meetings and contribute to the development of legal strategies. Advise clients on regulatory and compliance matters related to project development and finance. Requirements Minimum of 4 years of experience in project development and/or finance. Strong background in managing complex projects and transactions. Proven experience working at a national or international law firm preferred. Ability to handle a high caseload, work independently, and meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Education & Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active membership in the state bar where the position is based (Texas, New York, or California). Certifications Bar Admission in the relevant state (Required). Skills Expertise in project development and finance law. Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills. Ability to lead and manage complex legal projects. Client-focused with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships. Proficiency in legal research and using legal technology.
