We emphasize mastery of content through personalized pathways facilitated by cutting-edge technology.
What You Do: Paraeducators provide instructional support and deliver other direct services to students under the direction of a certified teacher or other licensed employee. What You Need
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to communicate with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians orally and in writing
Basic academic and computer skills Preferred Qualifications
Experience working or volunteering in a school setting
Experience working with individualized education plans (IEPs)
Associates degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a similar field
Experience working as direct support professional, personal care aid, CNA, or similar position Application Procedures

- Project-Based Learning (PBL): PBL is a teaching method in which students learn by actively engaging in real-world activities and personally meaningful projects. PBL is embedded throughout the program providing students with integrated units of study across content areas that empower students to have choice and voice in what they learn.
- STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math): STEAM emphasizes collaboration and exploration through student-centered learning experiences that provide opportunities to engage in hands-on, real-world problem solving.
- Technology Integration: The Self-Directed Academy utilizes various online platforms to enhance student learning through increasing interactivity and autonomy.
- Flexible Scheduling: Our soft schedule approach in middle school prepares students for high school by gradually increasing their autonomy over how they manage their learning time
