About Our JobThe Denver Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Behavioral Health Co-Responder Clinician Supervisor.The Behavioral Health Co-Responder Clinician Supervisor performs supervisor duties over Behavioral Health Co-Responder Clinicians who provides intensive professional crisis intervention and management including assessments, crisis counseling, 27-65 evaluation and documentation, level of care determination, acute safety planning, referral and connection to appropriate resources alongside Public Safety personnel (Law Enforcement, EMS, Fire).Location: Police Administration Building, 1331 Cherokee St, Denver 80204.Job responsibilities will include:Providing clinical supervision to behavioral health co-responder clinicians in accordance with professional practice board requirements, the Colorado Mental Health Practice Act, and applicable supervision standards.Supporting clinical operations and quality assurance by reviewing documentation and clinical records for accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and billing requirements, providing feedback and coaching as needed.Overseeing staff development and training by identifying, creating, facilitating, and tracking required trainings while ensuring staff maintain compliance with all training requirements.Developing and maintaining community partnerships and referral networks with behavioral health providers, hospitals, crisis services, courts, treatment facilities, the Behavioral Health Administration, and other community resources to support appropriate client referrals and care coordination.Providing regular staff supervision and performance management through individual and group meetings, coaching, performance improvement planning, grievance response, disciplinary recommendations, and recognition of staff successes and concerns.Assisting with program administration and policy development by collaborating with leadership to create, revise, and maintain policies, procedures, work plans, schedules, staffing coverage, and operational processes.Managing staffing, scheduling, and workforce continuity by maintaining clinician schedules, coordinating coverage with first responder partner agencies, communicating staffing changes, and serving as a backup clinician when necessary to prevent service interruptions.Leading employee onboarding and recruitment efforts by participating in hiring panels, providing candidate feedback, coordinating new employee onboarding, training, ride-alongs, and ensuring completion of all onboarding requirements.Providing court and stakeholder support by preparing and coaching staff for court appearances, providing expert testimony when needed, representing the department on committees, and leading assigned internal and external projects.Supporting program operations and fiscal responsibilities by assigning and reviewing work, assisting with complex cases, encouraging innovation, monitoring staff performance, and participating in budget planning, recommendations, and management as assigned.Below are the minimum requirements used to determine eligibility for this position:Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Counseling, Counseling, or a closely related field.Three (3) years of experience of in crisis intervention, suicide and risk assessment, verbal de-escalation, and differential diagnosis working with individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness, substance use, and other at-risk populations or three (3) years of experience in a co-response related position.Education and Experience Equivalency:No substitution of experience for education is permitted.License/Certification Requirement:Possession of a Licensed Profession Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) the provisions of the Colorado Revised Statutes for the State Board of Licensed Professional Counselor, or Social Worker Examiners.
