Plant Maintenance TechnicianMeadow Gold has immediate job openings for skilled Plant Maintenance Technicians, responsible for the care and maintenance of all property and production assets. This position ensures the continued operation of machinery and equipment in an electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, pneumatic and hydraulic capacity by completing planned and unplanned maintenance requirements on production, packaging, processing equipment and utility systems.Meadow Gold is a farmer-owned brand of Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), a dairy marketing cooperative owned by more than 12,500 family farmers. DFA manufactures a variety of dairy products, including cheese, butter, fluid milk, ice cream, dairy ingredients and more, under well-known and established regional brands.Our Technicians For This Position Can Make Up To:$36.00 per hour based on experience also eligible for $1/hr pay raises each of the next 2 years pending completion of a 90-day probation period.$3,000 sign on bonusSchedules Available:Thursday - Monday 10:00PM - 6:30AMBenefits:Union pension plan and 401(k)Competitive payPaid vacation and holidays*Career growth opportunities – we promote from within!Comprehensive healthcare benefitsService recognition and employee rewardsUniforms providedWork for dairy farm familiesJob Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance and/or repairs (planned, unplanned, emergency) on production, processing, and packaging equipment as well as utility related equipment or systems, following all safety proceduresPerform preventative maintenance; perform routine inspections of equipment for assessment of reliability and performanceRead, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and serviceSupport the installation of new equipmentAssist operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtimeComplete work orders in a timely manner, while maintaining high quality standardsUse a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing dutiesMaintain communication with other departments, management, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of productionEnsure all repairs are documented. Complete all paperwork clearly, legibly, and accurately with required information. Document all required information in accordance with standard operations proceduresStay up to date on new products, equipment, technology and techniquesUtilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processesExhibit the ability to anticipate parts requirements for the tasks, follow proper purchasing procedures, and acquire parts ahead of anticipated task performanceMaintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issuesFollow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirementsThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as requiredHigh school diploma or GED preferredThree years of experience required in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facilityMust be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checksMinimum one year experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably food and beverage industryMinimum one year experience with one or more technical experiences: Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC and/or HVACMinimum one year experience with a variety of equipment including lubricating, cleaning, material handling, motor control, relay control, process control and packaging equipmentIn-depth knowledge of blow mold operation, troubleshooting and repair where applicableFreon refrigeration where applicable, license or equivalent experienceMust be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimalsMust be able to handle basic hand toolsMust be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend required for virtually the entire shift; occasionally required to climb or balanceMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyMust be able to work in a cold, wet environment with moderate to high noise volumeMay experience some exposure to fumes airborne particles, chemicals or allergensMust be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidayAn Equal Opportunity Employer
