Our ideal candidate will have senior-level knowledge of carpentry and facilities maintenance to ensure our equipment is running on all cylinders daily! This is an hourly paid, union represented role working Monday thru Friday from approximately 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. We offer flexible start times.Job ResponsibilitiesMaintain and/or repair equipment and/or systems within the facility within area of expertiseInspect and maintain maintenance equipment including scissor lift, single man lifts, boom lift, utility cars and fork trucksAbility to load and unload tractor trailers with the use of overhead cranes and industrial forkliftsRigging of large equipment for lifting purposesTransport large electrical cabinets using a Traksporter crawler systemOversee maintenance schedule to ensure regular and preventive maintenance work assignments are completed when requiredPerform service calls, repairs, and equipment installationsKnowledge of troubleshooting, diagnostic evaluations, and routine inspections on physical plant systems and equipment as requiredOversee an inventory of parts and tools, and keep assigned storage areas clean and organizedFollow company and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines in daily work routines and assignmentsPerform all work in accordance with established safety proceduresComplete appropriate paperwork in a proper manner for the purchase, stocking, and/or use of all materials, parts, and components required for work order completionUsing Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS), ensure work orders contain appropriate and accurate information before submitting completed work ordersRecommends cost savings strategies and techniques that will not compromise quality and individual safetyStrong carpentry skills needed for construction of engineering and test fixturesStrong Facilities skills recommended. Painting, drywall repair, office furniture construction and basic building maintenanceQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent + at least 5 years of related maintenance experience in a manufacturing facilityDemonstrated ability to operate and maintain a variety of tools, equipment, and systemsEssential skills include problem-solving, reading blueprints, and preventative maintenanceAdditional technical education or certifications or hands-on experience from apprenticeships and on-the-job training is highly preferredU.S. Citizenship required.Taking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
