Assistant Coach, Swim and Dive

Cleveland State University Engaged Learning Works with the head coach in all facets of the Men’s and Women’s Swim and Dive program to ensure a quality and successful Division I team. Responsible for scouting, recruiting coordination, community relations, scheduling, academic supervision, equipment management, camps and clinics. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma, GED or state recognized equivalent. Experience coaching swimming at the high school, collegiate or equivalent level. Ability to travel and work evening and weekend hours as required. Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under CSU’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferably in sports management or related field. Two (2) years experience coaching collegiate swimming. Progressively responsible experience in practice and game day coaching, recruiting, scheduling, academic support and camps/clinics. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and legislation and committed to abiding by them. Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a “Customer Focus” attitude and delivery. Effective written and verbal communication skills and decision-making abilities. Possess the ability to effectively plan and coordinate, establish and maintain effective working relationships and prioritize workloads based on available resources. Possess the ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations. Possess a high degree of confidentiality to available information.
