We deeply care about our team members and partners and strive to provide a culture where people feel valued and inspired.The Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting with coordinating all internal and external resident activities, assessing resident preferences, and communicating with their department head on all appropriate matters.Benefits when choosing a career with Distinctive:Medical, Dental and Vision benefitsPaid Time Off401k Retirement Plan & Life InsuranceTeam Member Assistance ProgramResponsibilities: Assisting with assessing resident interest and activity needs at the time of move-in.Encourage resident participation in activities while respecting individual preferences and choices.Assist with decorating common areas and preparing for special events, holidays, birthdays, parties, and other celebrations. Prepare the activity room before activities take place and clean the area afterwards.Observe residents during activities and communicate any of their needs to the appropriate supervisor.Assist with group and one-on-one activities.Fosters teamwork with co-workers, shows initiative in overcoming obstacles, takes actions which assist others beyond job responsibilities, and has a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors. Performs other duties as assigned or needed.Required Skills and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor's degree strongly preferred in Social Service, Business, or a field related to this position.Prior management/supervisory experience.Minimum of three years' experience in assisted living or memory care preferred.Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Valid driver's license and clear driving record.Apply today to learn why Distinctive Living is a certified Great Place to Work!
