Duties

Help

• You will establish and implement the Security Program procedures within the SCSTC Hampton Roads Learning Site.
• You will serve as staff advisor, security program manager to the: CO, XO, and Department Heads on matters affecting overall security issues.
• You will ascertain problems in accuracy, adequacy, and adherence to procedures, and takes corrective action when necessary.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-11:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing, coordinating and analyzing the security programs; 2) Analyzing personnel readiness of the command and local LS, and provides statistical analysis of security resources distribution within the command to all related personnel and entities at places of interest and centers of local LS. Often assigned both short- and long-range security program related projects; 3) Determining methodology, designs forms and/or procedures for gathering information, determines instructions for carrying out projects and gathers data, analyzing and making recommendations based on data gathered; 4) Providing security services to managers, supervisors, and security counter parts throughout the command, LS and their centers; and 5) Reviewing existing division directives/instructions and ensure they are current, correct and necessary.

GS-09:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting and maintaining inventories of all classified material held onboard including Communications Security (COMSEC) and Electronic Keying Material System (EKMS) items; 2) Coordinating with Naval Base Great Lakes and Navy Region Midwest concerning physical security and anti-terrorism issues; 3) Informing employees about the goals and objective of management; and 4) Providing direct first level supervision to one subordinate security assistant.

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree

Successful completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree

Successful completion of 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree

Successful completion of an LL.B. or J.D., if related
